چکیده
We present a review of the follow-up observations carried out from observatories located in Spain; Calar-Alto, Izaña and Roque de Los Muchachos. It summarizes the observations carried out by our group for 27 GRBs occurred in the period 19992000, spanning from GRB990123 to GRB001007.

We report on optical observations on GRB 000210 obtained with the 2.56m Nordic Optical Telescope and the 1.54-m Danish Telescope starting 12.4 hours after the gamma-ray event. The content of the X-ray error box determined by the Chandra satellite is discussed.

Various cosmological applications of galaxy clusters are presented. Clusters are used to determine the baryon fraction, dark matter distribution and the matter density Ωm of the universe. They also contain a wealth of information about structure formation and evolution on different scales: large-scale structure, cluster formation and also galaxy formation via the interaction of cluster galaxies...

In this talk, we review some recent advances in the theory of dynamic tides in close binaries. We particularly focus on the effects of resonances of dynamic tides with free oscillation modes and on the role of dynamic tides in the comparison of theoretically predicted and observationally inferred apsidalmotion rates.

The BAT instrument tells Swift where to point to make immediate follow-up observations of GRBs. The science software on board must efficiently process γ-ray events coming in at up to 34 kHz, identify rate increases that could be due to GRBs while disregarding those from known sources, and produce images to accurately and rapidly locate new Gamma-ray sources.
